THE POWER OF DAILY ROUTINE

The power of Daily Routine

I write every day! Yes, every single day.
If you have a gift of writing or need to write for your personal brand, then you have to write every day.
But, how do you write every day and consistently?
The answer is that you need to form a routine.

Your routine must have the following:
1. READ: You must read every single day.
Think of it like this: if you don't feed yourself, you won't have any energy to do a thing.
You cannot give what you don't have.
So, it's what you read that feeds you for what you would give.
This is a MUST if you are going to be an effective and consistent writer.
Your inspiration is in the things you read.

2. WRITE: Great writers write daily.
One habit is to just write. Wake up in the morning and write.
John Maxwell said he takes the first few minutes of his day writing.
I personally have set a reminder on my phone to write for 15 minutes every single day.
This works for me. Find what works for you but you have to write daily.
Writing is like trying to build a muscle, it takes consistency!

3. GET A JOURNAL: Ideas are what you write.
Have you ever got an idea while you're about to jump on a bus and by the time you comfortably take your seat on the bus, you've lost that thought or idea?
That can be quite painful.
This used to happen to me too until I started keeping a journal and taking it everywhere with me.
I hear you ask: I can do that on my phone, can't I? Yes, you can! Your notes on your phone can help with this but I prefer a book. I can be quite old fashioned.
Journaling will help you get your ideas on paper fast, construct or organise your thoughts and make sure you don't lose any idea that comes to mind.

These are my personal routine and I came about them through learning from others.
Now, go give them a try. I must confess, just starting out can be uneasy but that's with starting any new habit.

I believe in you.
