Recently I met an old friend that I've known for years.
She was looking very good and I had to offer a compliment. "You look amazing", I said. "Oh, thank you. You're too kind", She replied rather sheepishly.
As we began talking, I realized that the dreamer I used to know in her had disappeared into thin air.
Her enthusiasm, the joy, and passion for life, the dreams she used to have, all seem to have been buried.
I mean, she used to want to do a Ph.D., host a talk show like Oprah, dance shamelessly as a passionate performer, she even used to write poetry and wanted to speak into relationships and marriages.
As I gazed into her eyes and I almost asked, "Where have your dreams gone?"
But, I held back. I was careful not to sound like I was judging her.
A lot had happened since we used to be quite close and talked about our dreams.
Well, maybe not a lot, but she got married and had kids and those dreams appear to have reached the cemetery long before she ever will.
I am reminded of the words of the late Dr. Myles Munroe...
"The graveyard is the richest place on the surface of the earth because there you will find the books that were never written or published, ideas that were never put to work, songs that were not sung, and innovations that never saw the light of day..."
Why am I writing this?
I write to those whose dreams have been buried...
Buried in the sands of life's happenings and busyness.
People who have taken on a career turned coffin where their glories, potentials, and visions have been buried.
They are no longer turned on by their passion. They've gotten so used to mediocrity and the rat race, that they no longer see anything else beyond their horizons.
Their lives are full of the usual - wake up, get ready for work, get the kids ready, prepare lunch for the day, eat breakfast and go to work. Come back home, sit on the couch, watch some episodes of their favorite TV series and off to bed. It's just a cycle.
No more dreams, no more visions, no more purpose.
I write to awaken you from this slumber.
The purpose of life is to live a life of purpose. And it is dangerous to be alive and not know why or not live for the WHY you were created.
The greatest tragedy in life is not death but a life without purpose.
Now, is the time to take back your life. Now is the time to dream again or resurrect from those coffins of life.
By the grace of God, I can help you through my mentorship and coaching programs.
