One day, I got a revelation from God for a video post for my social media platforms.
I remember running to my wife, and telling her that, I believe that the uniqueness of the revelation was going to make the video go viral.
I made the video, spent a few hours making it awesome - adding extra stock videos here and there, making the graphics pop, and effects glow.
To my utmost shock, the video only got 50 views on Facebook, no comment, and just 15 likes! LORD OF MERCY! I nearly cried!
I was convinced, something must be wrong with Facebook. I looked over at the one on Instagram, and the result wasn't far apart. WHAT?!!!
I mean, I put so much into the making of the video, not only that, the message was apt, the revelation from God was everything!
I mean, couldn't people see?! Didn't anyone catch the revelation? But my wife caught it, nau?!
Do you feel me?
Why am I sharing this with you?
I know you got that deep revelation or message from God and you knew it would take the world by storm yet no one bought into it.
I knew you have read so many books to write that one article or post you thought everyone would share and it would go viral, and it is as if only blind people read it.
I know... I've been there!
Listen, if the only thing that excites you about delivering your message to the world is the way the world accepts it, you will always be in pain.
If you judge the effectiveness of your purpose and message by how many likes and comments it gets on social media, you will miss your calling.
If Facebook existed during the time of Jesus, I am very sure He won't get any likes on His posts. I am so sure the Algorithms of that day would not have favoured the message that people need to repent for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Why then do you trivialise your calling and reduce it to the conditioning of 'likes' on social media.
Yes, I feel and I get you, but it would be too myopic to think your message is not effective or your purpose is not valid because social media doesn't embrace it.
Let me shock you - studies have shown that 80% of the people who consume your post don't respond to it. Yes, 80% of them, read it, get inspired or blessed, and never like or comment.
If you quit because you didn't see their comments or likes, you will deny many people of all that God wants to do through you.
If you give up because you only saw 5 likes and 2 comments, you will fail God and your generation.
My point - "do not grow weary of doing good, for in due season you will reap, if you do not give up - Galatians 6:9. Do not grow tired, weary, or discouraged. People are getting inspired, blessed, and challenged.
Keep writing. Keep posting. Keep sharing. God is watching your faithfulness, and people are getting blessed even if they are not commenting.
I believe in you.
