Some years ago, I arrived in New Zealand with a little amount of money on me.
At about the fourth week, the money I came with was finishing and I had to do something.
I applied for jobs and I kept getting rejected. No one was willing to take a chance on me.
One day, I got the idea to print out my CV and start sharing them around.
I took them to restaurants, small companies, literally everywhere!
One day, I entered a Malaysian Restaurant and I met the owner. I handed her my CV. She was surprised to see I was a Ph.D. student.
She saw that I had studied in Singapore, so She asked if I could speak 'Singlish' (Singapore's pidgin English).
After a few exchanges, She gave me a waiter's job at her restaurant, and asked me to start the next day! That was my first job!
Why am I sharing this with you?
Most times in life, the things you really need will not come to you. You would have to take the bull by the horn and go to them.
You would have to do the unusual to attract the extraordinary.
Your story will not change until you change something about how you do things.
If no one is willing to take a chance on you, take a chance on yourself, and do the unusual.
I believe in you.
