Today, I was listening to Eric Thomas (popularly called ET), he said something that struck me.
He once interviewed Warren Buffet, one of the top richest men.
ET asked Warren Buffet what his routine was and he said he wakes up every morning, reading financial reports for 6 hours daily.
He said sometimes he would go back to read 1960s financial reports of some successful companies to see how to replicate some principles in this decade.
What a commitment to success! No wonder he is one of the top richest men in the world and one of the foremost masterminds of financial investments.
Why am I sharing this with you? I want to show you two lessons I learned from it:
1. The power of focus!
Do you know why Warren Buffet is a grandmaster in financial investments? He focussed on becoming one.
When you read on a particular topic 6 hours daily x 7 days, that's 42hours per week = 2,190 hours a year!
Are you surprised such a person is one of the richest men in the world?
This is what Malcolm Gladwell refers to as the 10,000 hour rule in his book - Outliers
Imagine him reading financial reports today, relationship books the next and trying to become a Pastor the next day! He would die average!
Some of you can't stay focussed on a course ever! You are always drifting from one thing to the other, seeking popularity and competing with others in their space!
Find your space and run your race! Grace is only available in your lane! That's where you value is!
Where is your focus?
2. The power of commitment:
Some people want to succeed on convenience and they wonder why they aren't succeeding.
No one succeeds without a commitment. Your commitment is evident in your daily routine.
What is your daily routine like?
I believe in you.
