#30Reasons – 30: DEATH IS NOT THE END

Death is often misunderstood. Too many people think death here on earth is the end. Permit me to announce to you that death is not the end of life. While it marks the end of life here, it is the beginning of another beyond here.

There are three dimensions to every human being – the spirit, soul, and body. The body is our flesh that helps us feel things in the physical; it houses both the soul and spirit of man. Our soul is the mental department where our reasoning, thinking (information processing) and emotions take place; often referred to as the mind. The spirit, however, is the real deal. Your spirit is the real you!

When we die, our body remains here on earth, eventually decays and returns to dust where it came from. However, our spirit does not die! Our spirit is answerable to the giver – God! When God created each and every one of us or anything for that matter, He had a purpose in mind. Therefore, nothing should die unless its purpose is fulfilled. God is not happy when anything He creates dies without fulfilling His purpose.

This is why I am convinced that when you know God’s purpose for your life and are determined to fulfill it, it will be impossible to take your own life. You will be convinced your life is not your own so you can’t take it. Moreover, taking your own life is an offense against God, the giver of life and that would not be taken lightly when you report to His throne at the afterlife. The result is not palatable and you don’t want to experience it.

I have written these articles every day over the last 30 days because I 100% believe in the good in every single person in the world. I absolutely and unreservedly believe no wrong or bad situation is final. I have seen the most terrible situations become beautiful stories of hope and change.

So let me encourage you today…no matter what you are going through; no matter your pain or regret; no matter the guilt, shame, loss, suffering or agony…PLEASE refuse to take your own life. Instead, why don’t you challenge the giver of your life and ask for a change of your situation? Even if you don’t believe in God, why don’t you just say, ‘I’ve never prayed before, and I don’t even know if You’re up there like they say; but if you can hear me, please take this pain away…or rescue me…or heal me…change this situation’. Say anything that comes to your mind, but just give life another try!
